How to manage screen and display settings on Android Easier

You can change your screen and display setting like brightness, font size, display size, rotation settings, and more.

Important: Some of these steps work only on Android 10 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.


To Change display settings
1•Open your phone’s Settings app.
2•Tap Display.
3•Tap the setting that you want to change. To see more settings, tap Advanced.

Brightness settings
Important: Settings can vary by phone. For more info, contact your device manufacturer.

Brightness level {screen and Display }
To set your screen’s brightness, tap Brightness level and move the slider Brightness.


Adaptive brightness
To automatically fit your screen’s brightness to the light around you, turn on Adaptive brightness. This is on by default. You can change your brightness while adaptive brightness is on. Over time, your phone will learn your preferences.

Wallpaper
Pick from default wallpapers, your photos, and more.
Dark theme
You can save battery by using a dark color scheme on some screens, like your Settings app. Tap Dark theme.
Note: If you can’t find “Dark theme,” follow the steps for older Android versions.


Screen timeout
You can Change how long it takes for your phone’s screen to go black when you’re not using it.

Screen saver
Set a screen saver to show photos, colorful backgrounds, and more while your phone is charging.
Lock screen display
If you don’t see “Lock screen display,” tap Ambient display.
Lock screen: Control how notifications show on your lock screen.

1•Change the size of words on your screen.

Auto-rotate screen
3•Turn what’s showing on the screen when you turn your phone.
4 •Tip: You can rotate your screen while Auto-rotate is turned off. Rotate your phone, then in the corner, tap Rotate Rotate.

1•Open your phone’s Settings app.

2•Tap System and then Languages & input and then Languages.

3•If you don’t see “System,” then under “Personal,” tap Languages & input and then Languages.

4• To add a language:

6•Choose the language that you want to use.

7• Touch and drag your language to the top of the list.

8• To remove a language:

9• At the top, tap More More and then Remove.
Pick a language.

10•At the top, tap Delete Delete.
